My Christmas Presents :D

I love, love, love Christmas, I can't express it anymore...it has been my favorite holiday since I was a little girl. It's such a special month, just the craziness, how it's always busy, and the very jolly atmosphere - I always expect it. I also enjoy being with my family and friends during this time of the year :)

5th Tattoo of the year

On Wednesday, November 1st, I got another tattoo by my artist Myles, it is located on my right hip, they are Japanese Kanji symbols for "Determination." These symbols mean a lot to me because it will be a drive and a push for myself to complete everything I want to do and need to do. I have so many goals in my life, and I just really want to become successful. It's so easy to want something, but you just got to remember to have a plan for yourself so you can see what are the steps you need to take to get to that level, the level that you want to achieve.

Usher & Trey Songz Concert

On Monday, November 29 was a very busy, and special day because number one it was one of my bestest friends birthday Sam!!! :D HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY! I love you Samzy!!! I will always keep you close to my heart, you are very dear to me, and I wanna thank you for all the years of friendship you have given me and there will be more to come :)

Around Noon, I went to go get my hair done :) I love getting my hair done it's really fun for me. I needed to do my hair badly because my roots were coming out lol. I absolutely loved the turn out of it :D I believe and everyone feels the same that darker hair color suits me better. I had brownish/blond highlights before because it's my summer look and now that winter is here my hair is back to dark, redish, burgandy again :) I am soo happy with it :D!

After getting my hair done, I went home to get ready for the concert..I had to leave around 5:30 pm to beat the traffic, and I arrived downtown an hour later, picked up Jonelle and made our way to the Air Canada Center. This is the third concert Jonelle and I went to, we love going to concerts, first it was Beyonce, then Rihanna, and now Usher and Trey lol. Our seats were on the side of the stage which wasnt bad because we were close to them.

The first person to open was an up and coming artist named Khalil, I never really heard fo this guy, but he put on an acceptable show, wish I knew the song he was singing :S so I could vibe more. But overall it was fine. Then 10 mins later after Khalil was done, Trey Songz came out :D!! He is soo sexy in person, such a great performing and his voice is amazing. He sang his hit songs and close to the end Drake made a special appearance performing "Right above it" and stayed on stage to party with Trey when he clsoed off with the song "Bottoms up." Trey really knows how to hype up the crowd, everyone was dancing and singing along with him. Love you Trey!!

After Trey Songz finished, about 15 minutes passed and Usher's dancers came on stage. Everyone thought Usher was going to come out on stage but he came out on the other side of the building on a flying moving platform! I must say..what an entrance :) I love Usher so much, I have a lot of respect for him, he has been on this game since he was young and he is still doing it big. He truly is such an amazing performer, he sang live and danced perfectly. Everyone in the building were going crazy for him, who wouldn't right? Also a lucky girl that he picked from the audience got to be on stage with him while he teased her and even kissed her! wtf! Other than that Usher sang all of his hits songs from his current album, and even went back to singing Nice & Slow :D, Lovers & Friends, Burn, etc. This was honestly the best concert I've ever been in, when he performs he really knows how to make you feel sexy after lol. I love you Usher!!

He treats me like a Princess

Today was a very exciting day for me because I got my very first "Please Return to Tiffany & Co." bracelet at Yorkdale Mall purchased by my baby :D It means a lot for me that he bought me that because I've always wanted one and I just didnt have the time to go and get it for myself. I didn't even know Yorkdale had a Tiffany & Co store, Louis Vouitton, Michael Kors, and many more luxury stores...guess I should go there more often :)

Most asked questions about me

I work as a server at a restaurant and majority of the time a lot of my customers ask me the same questions...so I thought about writing a blog about the questions that most of my customers ask me because maybe it's not just them that wonders these things...

1.) Is Jewel really your real name?
- Yes, yes is it my real birth name, my parents named me Jewel because my dad's name is Jerry, and his ex-girlfriend's name was Wilma...My parent's put it together and you get Jewel lol..I know it's weird using my dad's ex-girlfriend's name, but my mom's name Sandra and it was already taken by my older sister's name Jessa...so yeh my parent's were a little creative putting our names together...btw my little sister's name is Jeselle and it's Jessa and Jewel put together...

2.) What is your nationality?
- I get asked by this question way too many times, not just by my customers but from other people who I got a pleasure of meeting...Most of them think I'm mixed of asian and white descent, I also get other types of asian backgrounds such as chinese, korean, japanese, vietnamese, thai!...they usually say all of these guesses before saying Filipino, yes I am Filipino, 100% full, pure and proud to be Filipino. I believe that the best looking asian girls are Filipino and other people concur as well :)

3.) Do you work out your body? How do you stay fit?
- Honestly, with this question I give the most appalling answer...which is a no...I am a very lazy person, especially now in my early 20's...I used to be so active in my elementary and high school days playing basketball and track & field...but recently, the only active things I do is work, partying and xxx, but other than that I don't go to the gym and work out, although I would love to get abs on my stomach. I always have a high motabolism, so I'm thankful for that :D

4.) Where do you shop?
- Most of my belongings such as clothes, shoes, bags, make-up, accesories, micellaneuos things are bought from my mall Square One Shopping Centre, it is the best mall in Mississauga, and it's so close to where I live, where I work...I know that mall like the back of my hand...I also like to buy expensive things because it lasts longer than cheaper items...and I like to shop every single chance I get! I never stepped foot in that mall and leaving without nothing lol..most of my clothes and especially my dresses are only worn once! you will never catch me wearing it twice :) what can I say? I'm a princess, and that's how princesses live :)

5.) Are you single? Do you have a man?
- :) No I am not wifed up right now, 2010 - being single for the whole year is actually my best year thus far. I've definitely grown, became more of an independent woman and I know more things now about life that I didn't know then :) I am soo happy with my life right now..no complains, I feel soo blessed :D

6.) What do you like about tatoos?
- Uhm...I currently have 5 tats right now, I really don't mind the pain. I'm plannin to get about 4 more and well see how it goes from there, I love the art of tattoos, I study it, and it amazes me.

7.) What kind of music do you listen to?
- My ears are open to a lot of different genres of music..I listen to Hip-hop, rap, and r&b I also love pop, punk rock, reggae and house music. When I'm in the club I love dancing to reggae and to house music.

8.) What are you addicted to?
- A lot of things actually...alcohol, shopping, xxx, tatoos, games on my ipod touch, money..and my lifestyle...

9.) What can you not live without?
- My family...but in terms of materialistic things my Blackberry, my laptop, my make up, and my nivea labello chapstick lol

10.) What are things that most people don't know about you?
- Hmmm...that's hard..I'm very open about a lot of things I do in my personal life, most of my close friends know how I am and facebook friends see what my life is like through my posts on facebook...but I really like to sleep throughout the day..and wake up at night to go out...I don't watch any t.v...and I eat a lot everyday lol..I think that's it

New Make-ups this week :)

I got 3 really cool new Make-ups this week that I want to share with you all, I have only tried them out for a few days and I love them. They worked really great on me and that wasn't usually the case. I normally stick with buying make-ups from MAC because everytime I try other brands it hardly turns out as good as MACs and that's why I'm a loyal MAC customer :D

When I wanted to buy an eye shadow primer I had only one place in mind to get it, MAC. The primer I bought was called the "Painterly Paintpot" for $20. You gently coat your eyelids once (not a lot) because this primer will help prevent your eyeshadows and eyeliner from smudging. I've never used a primer before and I usually always have this problem whenever I yawned or something and it would get my eyes all watery and then my eye shadow close to the crease will smudge, but ever since I used this primer I never came across into any eyeshadow smudging problem. I am very satisfied with this product and I'm always using it everyday before putting on eyeshadow or eyeliner.


MAC's Painterly Paintpot Primer

This week I kind of wanted to try a new eyeliner that one of my friends was using, and she persuaded me to buy it because it's really good, etc. so I'm like what the heck, why not? I've been using MAC's Engraved Pencil Eyeliner for many, many years and I just wanted to try this one out for a change. This Eyeliner is called "Jet set waterproof eyeliner" from Smashbox and you can get it from Shoppers Drugmart for $27. I know that it seems a lot for just an eyeliner and considering that my MAC pencil eyeliner was only $16 and it could last me about 2-3 months. This Jet Set eyeliner really worked well for me and I love it. It is easy to use, you have to buy an angled eyeliner brush separately, I got one from QUO for $13 (also available at Shoppers), so with the brush you gently dip it in the eyeliner and glide it on your eyelids. You don't even need to dip it a whole lot, because one little dab goes a long way. The eyeliner never smudges, it is waterproof but it comes off with soap and water, it lasts for a really long time (I'm talking up to 3 days) therefore, I will be using this eyeliner from now on :)

I also got a Make-up Eveshadow Palette from Chickaboom. My baby ordered it for me online, that's the only place where you can get it from, Chickaboom.ca and you will receive it in the mail about a week. They are usually sold out of this Palette because it's really popular. This "Super" Palette costs $29.99 and has 88 Eyeshadows that are highly pigmented and easy to blend. I love mixing 2-3 colours together, it gives a much better effect than just using one color. I'm so happy I got this Palette, I love it soo much.

On the Newspaper

Yesterday I went with my sister to a Filipino Restaurant to look for this Filipino Newspaper called "Likha" because I was featured on it for the Septemeber issue as Likhang "Kaakit-akit" I'm not exactly sure what that means but I know it's a compliment lol my sister told me it means "seductive" and she started laughing. So when we got there we found the newspaper and took 10 copies of it lol. I guess it's pretty cool to have your face in a newspaper, this was actually my second time being on a Filipino newspaper so for my first time I was more giddy and so happy lol.

Being on the Filipino newspaper you get recognition of some sort, such as I was asked to be in a Filipino Beauty Pageant a few times before, and I turned it all down. I just get really scared being infront of people on the stage, so it's definitely a fright thing for me and that's something I have to get over.

I love luxuries, I know most people don't agree on spending a lot of money on buying expensive items, but I think it's actually quiet beneficial and worthy. Why spend money on inexpensive clothing, shoes, bags etc. when it doesn't even last you for long. I prefer to just save my money and buy a luxury that can last me for years and I'm talking about 10+ years.

Describing me...

If I were to describe myself into 3 words only, they would most likely be Perfectionist, Impulsive and Silly...

I am a perfectionist and I always have been since I was young, I always pay attention to every single detail in anything I do, and if it weren't perfect, it would automatically bother me so much that I would have to fix it. Even working with others who do a half-ass job in what they do bothers me that I would either have to let them know or I'll fix it myself. There are many downsides to being perfectionist such as time consuming, but I know myself well enough that whenever I would have to do something I have to give enough time for me to do it in order to finish properly.

I am an impulsive person because as I mentioned in my other blogs before I really don't take the time into thinking about what I'm doing or what I need to do, I just live for the moment, and if it's looking good in my head then I do it, and I don't even think of impacts of it in the long run. I guess I became this way because whenever I wanna purchase something and then I decide not to, I always have that "what if" feeling after, and I don't like that so I would have to get it in order for that feeling to not occur. I know this personality is bad and I would have to work on this, but I've been trying for years and it's not working lol.

I am a silly person because it's like the fun side of me, most of my time here on earth I've always been happy, I am a very happy person. I don't like to cry, be sad, I hate drama as well, so most of the time I'm always happy and content with my lfe:)...I like to smile, I like to laugh I love making people laugh whether it's by saying something really stupid or making fun of a situation, that's like the best. It makes me feel good that I make others feel good.

Those are the top three of my personality but it doesn't fully describe me as a person, so it was really hard to narrow it down to 3 because I have so many different adjectives to describe my personality and I guess that is why I can be friends with anyone because I can relate to them, even if they are a bitch, there's a bitch side to me, if they were weird, I have a weird side to me, if they were nerds, I have that nerd side to me..so basically anyone, anyone at all with different personalities can be my friend. This is obviously something not everyone is prone or capable of doing because I know a lot of my friends just like to associate with others who are just like them and have the same characteristics like them, but for me...let's just say I'm cool with everybody :D

So I describe myself as friendly, nice, outgoing, extrovert, opinionated, outspoken, hard worker, moody, cooperative, determined, respectful, spoiled, high maintenance, materialistic, flirtatious, generous, mean (sometimes), proud, loving, caring, sweet, funny, loyal, ambitious, talkative, laid-back, shy (sometimes) annoying, bitchy, charming, cheerful, conceited, open-minded, loud, lazy (sometimes), naive, polite, weird, sympathetic, I can be stubborn too, Jactation is definitely something I mastered lol, I mean the list can just go on and on, I am a gemini so I can be Good and Bad :)

Never a Failure, Always a Lesson.

The quote that I got tattood on me is a quote that I live by and I'm going to live by forever. "Never a Failure, Always a Lesson." This quote just means so much to me because I have done so many mistakes and stupid things in the past that I regret, I'm the type of person can be easily fooled, and by those careless actions it has affected how I am today. I know a lot of people make mistakes in their lives but it doesn't mean their a failure, or their worthless. I just want them to know it's ok to make mistakes, you have to learn from it and don't make them again. I got this quote from one of Rihanna's tattoos, she has it tattood on her upper chest, and it was tattood the way that she could only read it when she's facing the mirror and I think that was brilliant. I know she also got it right after the whole Chris Brown domestic violence incedent, which means she will never go back, and she learned her lesson from there.
